Spatial Distribution of Fluoride in Groundwater of Narasinghpur Block, Cuttack, Odisha, India

Aims: Fluoride-rich groundwater is common in granite aquifers throughout India and the world. The fluoride concentration of tube well water was investigated this study. Also discussion made on fluorides their correlation with other water-quality indicators.
 Place Duration Study: research area i.e. Narasinghpur block fall western half Cuttack district Odisha under lateritic uplands hilly tract. Before rainy season (January, 2020), fifty two samples from different places were collected.
 Methodology: Standard procedures used for collecting, preserving, analysing, interpreting several parameters viz., pH, EC, Ca2+, Mg2+, Na+, HCO3-, CO32-, F- etc. samples.
 Results: content ranged 0.58 to 4.95 mg L-1. Fluoride containing minerals released into due alkaline pH high bicarbonate levels. arid environment region, predominance granitic, khondalitic, charnockitic rocks, longer contact time fluoride-bearing minerals, minimal freshwater exchange are responsible groundwater. Positive correlations found between (r= 0.681**), Na+ 0.690**), HCO3- 0.719**), negative Ca2+ -0.565**) Mg2+ -0.597**).
 Conclusion: Majority collected gram panchayats falling contained level higher than that set by BIS/WHO standard, posing a hazard various ecosystems. people dependent these resources prone health hazards.
